The Mission

To expand access to affordable housing, meet the immediate and long-term needs of those who are homeless or at risk, and strengthen the social safety-net through: public policy, public education, impact litigation and advocacy training and support.

Since 1989,The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty (NLCHP) has been working through the legal branch of our government to advocate for the rights of the homeless. The scope of their legal work spans across issues from providing homeless children legal rights to

maintain enrollment in schools, to passing laws that provide the homeless with access to vacant government properties. The NLCHP’s legal work has had profound effects on the homeless community, and your vote can help continue this groundbreaking work.

The Coalition for the Homeless works through both advocacy and service programs that work directly with homeless people in New York City. Through these programs they are able to help 3,500 homeless people everyday.
